Lifetime Policy
Is anyone here insured with Argos on their Platinum cover?
They have given me a great quote but when I asked if it was a lietime policy i was told its ongoing as long as Im insured with them, Im not the brightest spark so is this the same as a lifetime policy??
Thanks in advance, this insurance is beginning to baffle me!! x

Re: Lifetime Policy
Yes, but obviously if you change insurers whatever condition they have been covering becomes a pre-existing condition as far as other insurers go, even if you then go back to the original insurer. Does that make sense?
But they all do that. Lifetime cover means that the insurer will pay for veterinary treatment for any condition up to the maximum (in my case £7500) for as long as the condition lasts, and not just until the end of each insurance period.

Brilliant thanks Caryll. Argos can offerme their Platinum level of cover ( up to £7500 vet fees) for 11.46 per month which is a lot less than Ive been quoted so far, I just wanted to be sure that it was a lifetime policy I was taking out x

Re: Lifetime Policy
Sounds a good price. What's your excess? A lot of insurance companies seem to be introducing an excess plus a percentage of each treatment.

Re: Lifetime Policy
That's a good one. I might look at that when my current one runs out. My excess is £75 and no added percentage, but it's with Sainsbury's & they've started adding the percentage clause to new policies, so I'll see what they offer.
Have a look online to see if people are happy with the way Argos deal with claims, but if that's ok, then it sounds pretty good.

Re: Lifetime Policy
We have Rocky insured with Argos on the Platinum cover on a lifetime policy. I hope the paragraph below explains what Lifetime cover means. I would always get this type of cover for any pet:
So what does lifetime pet insurance cover mean? It simply means that where your pet gets a condition that may take some years to treat - such as diabetes or arthritis - a "lifetime" policy will cover that condition for more than the first 12 months. Non-lifetime policies will cover a condition for only up to 12 months; after that you have to pay.
Hope this helps.
PS-We are about to put in a claim with Argos so will be able to report how well or not they do shortly.

Re: Lifetime Policy
Still not a bad quote.
Mine's £30+ a month, but that's because I've claimed over £5000!

This is about what we paid on Rockys policy last year, we renewed the policy with Argos again this year and it has increased to approx £20 per month. Rocky is insured a Staffy cross, which is what he is, though so this may make a slight difference.
