home remedy for infected sore?
Vinny seems to have a bump/sore on his neck which smells a bit infected. Are there any home remedies we could put on it to soothe and clean?

He would probably need antibiotics so a visit to the vet would be in order

Does it have any swelling or puss? If not, then a simple salt water bathe will help. Just keep an eye on it - if it becomes swollen, angry looking or weeps then he'll need anti-bs.

I'm leaning towards it looking like a bite at the moment as it does look raised. We had some disinfectant and ointment that we've put on for now and keeping an eye on it!

I've just ordered some Manuka honey which is meant to be really good for these type of things - for Humans & Dogs

A few drops of Tea tree oil in cooled boiled water in a spray bottle, works a treat. Molly had a lump (boil type thing) on the back of her neck. I applied the t/tree oil and the next day it had popped, it cleared completely within 3 day's I was treating it 2's a day.

I would agree with the honey or tea tree. You can also use hydrogen peroxide solution which you can get at the chemist. It tends to come in 3% or 6% vol solution. It usually tells you on bottle how much to use, I tend to use half water half 3% solution, if you use the 6% use more water as its x2 the strength. Dab a bit on the sore and the pus should fizz out. If there is lot of heat or swelling round the sore I would go to the vet first
