yay week off
wooop its finally here, a week off with the pooches!!! many walks ahead and chilling out.
had so many people ask where im going... and they all seemed suprised when i said costa del hemel with the hounds just walking the countryside and loving it. does a holiday really have to mean jetting off to some remote country? as so many peoples reactions changed when i said im staying local with the hounds, dont dogless people understand what its like to spend quality time with your dogs??? at least one person understands and a lass at work has asked me to bring the dogs up at her lunchtime to meet them. im sure the night walk tonight was more chilled as they scenced my relaxing away from the office. if only they knew the treat I have instore for them on monday lol

enjoy your break , I'm off week after Easter but already got "stuff " to do like rework all my office fix collapsed floorboard that have been sitting with big chunks of plywood over the carpet to stop further damage as a temporary measure until I get the stuff out to lift the carpet (that was about a year ago now

late 50's mate, if you know boston you know everyone knows each other lol.janey wrote:

day one spent the day with riley and claire in the woods, had my arm pulled out socket when marley saw some deer. even worse these are brainey deer that can see marley is on a lead and so taunt him by standing there and staring at him from a safe distance.... hes such a lil git to pull away and spreads his front legs out making it almost impossible to pull him back. Thankfully im now sitting on my dog chew (sofa) with them both fast asleep snuggled up to me so must have been a good day as not even any play fighting tonight. moments like this are what its about

Re: yay week off
i wish i could off lead marley but it just aint happening. ive done all the recal stuff but when it comes to prey drive it simply doesnt matter hes like something posessed. i actually thought he hed burst blood vessels in his eyes once as they went all brownish red and he was yowling and seemed like he couldnt hear a thing i said, even though ten mins earlier he was moving to directions left and right and following the trials with me. he disapears for hours and relentlessly chases things down, even trys to climb trees after squirills. the only funny thing about it is that while i have some wild thing on a lead he totally ignores all dogs and humans so when people with dogs look aprehensive as they apporach they cant beleive there pooch is sniffing his butt and he doesnt even realise the dogs are there.
as for your dad, i bet i know someone that knows the family name. my dads family like most around there was big with 7 brothers and 1 sister spanning a few generations

Re: yay week off
Moo loves to chase and if she wants to go she can, she isn't quick enough anymore but we have the space so she can disappear if she likes.
Dave Livock was my dad, we still have friends in Boston, but I think he maybe a little old to know your dad, had a lot to do with the cricket club there

ill ask anyway as they all seem to know each other around there lol. was you brought up there? I lived in the fens until i moved down here, loved how i had to translate between any lass i was with and my gran lol. they lived in the sticks with no inside loo and my grandad got knocked off his bike into a ditch at 90 but gave it up cos his hands got cold lol. bless him died two weeks after being moved into a home, after all that time smoking rollies and gardening in a boiler suit undone to his waist at -5 he died in a place with heat and inside loos... ill always remember him, not like things now, my mum took me to see him in the winter for the first time and he came out the garden in his boiler suit and shook my hand at 10 years old and told mum i was a a cordley through and through, and that despite the next 20 years of him being alive was the last time i saw him until his funeral...stubbourn tough old git.

No I never grew up there, just visited. No real family on the dads side. With dad gone he has 2 cousins left, I just use them as an excuse for a break away! Fab people. His son committed suicide, was shocking for a small town.
