Raw advice again please
Okay I am trying to get my head round the amounts to feed. I am not going to be overly fussy about weighing but would like to get a rough idea.
So according to a website I have been on it says in reference to feeding a puppy '' Begin feeding him 10% of his weight a day. Once 10% of his weight exceeds 2% to 3% of his IDEAL ADULT weight (not present weight), feed the 2% to 3%''
So Holly is 3.5kg therefore I am feeding 10% of her weight which is 350g of raw food a day.( approx)
So if I work out her ideal weight ( based on her Mum's build ) is about 16kg.
So if that website is correct...3% of 16kg is 480 grams therefore once she reaches about 4.8 kg I would stop increasing the amount I give daily?
This is really confusing me because I can't imagine it will take her long to get to 4.8kg?
Perhaps I am feeding her too much now...she is quite podgy
Hope that is easy enough to understand

I never bothered with the 10% it tends to confuse things as you do it for so long and then swap anyway.
I start straight away with feeding 2-3% of expected adult weight and the adjust from there whether the pup is looking skinny or podgy etc

Re: Raw advice again please
Exact same as Ella! Started with roughly 2-3% and adjust as needed!

I was a little paranoid at first and weighed everything. I still weigh his food but depending on how much exercise he gets I may top up his meal or cut back. Also as Im away a bit with work, I pre pack everything once a month so the wife can just gab a bag and defrost. Either way I've worked his daily meal to 480grams.
