All depends. I don't like to be licked. My humans are not allowed to do that either.

Really depends on what you classify as spoiling. Suki is well cared for and has the run of the house but we make sure she is well behavied. Well ..... most of the time

Depends on how you spoil her. Nothing wrong with that, but we all have to train our dogs too, so I think letting them get away with everything is when it can become a problem. Besides that, it's all good Big Grin I always spoil Loki.

Logan is spoilt in a lot of ways but is then treated very strict in other ways.

He is a good dog 85% of the time Laughing

Dempsey isn't spoilt.

He does gets loads of fuss & love, and occasionally he'll get away with things he shouldn't, but on the whole, no he isn't spoilt.

I guess it depends on what you definition of spoil is, Rocky sleeps on our bed but he is well behaved well exercised and well loved. He has the occasional treat of his little non chocolate chocolate drops.

Tilly and Tommy are spoilt , just a little bit , but they are our kids and I don't think they are bad for it , maybe a little bit mard or certainly Tilly but no more badly behaved than any dog can expec to be at times

My philosophy too. Like kids they need boundaries. In my opinion they feel more secure if you are strict with them and they know their place.

Lol. Spoiling is relative... speaking of relatives, we do treat our dogs better than some of them. Tongues

I guess Ebonys spoilt in the way of being allowed on sofas, getting the run of the house and new toys all the time as soon as she destroys her toys and plenty other ways too; but I brought her up strictly so she knows where she stands and knows it's a privilege to get what she's got kind of thing? I'm not sure how to explain but she's spoilt to some extent as she's my little princess Love Struck , but she listens to what I say pretty much 97% of the time, there's rarely any times she doesn't listen to me in the house or out side (till she sees a dog but were working on that Big Grin ). I think as long as they know who's in charge and have respect for that person/pack leader then there isn't any problems. She has her boundaries and rules and she sticks to them but I think that's because she knows it works both ways so I think "spoiling" them to some extent helps them learn a bit better as they can differentiate between right and wrong easier as you can take their privileges away for a while till their behavior is correct.

I usually leave her with her rope toys ect but while I was away one day she absolutely shredded them to pieces and dragged them all around the house (better than the sofas I guess Wink ) but I simply said NO, that's naughty as she saw me cleaning up and didn't stroke her or fuss her as I usually would when I first come in and said no more about it! Back to cuddles and kisses for the rest of the night after I let her "sulk". I took away her rope toys while I was gone one day and gave her it back the next day and she was good as gold - kept the shreddings in her bed! She's never slipped up again with her toys! So I really think that they go hand in hand to some extent as long as you don't just out right spoil them without giving them guidance/training, but that's just my view! Big Grin

Sorry for the waffle Laughing

i think it depends on how you look at it. i see tyke as my other son, his safety and well being been the most important but he gets plenty of loves and we love him to bits, when we home he has the run of the house and can generally do as he pleases. But if he does something wring which these days he tends not to then he is told its wrong as we would our son.

to me a dog been spoiled is those little hand bag dogs........
