humping problem
Hi my two and a half year old male keeps trying to hump my boyfriend!! Arrrh and when he gets a grip its hard to get him off! With a firm no it usually works but he will just go away for 5 minutes then come back and try it again. He has even done it to another male dog and has become more regular recently. He has been nutered since he was 6 months and I assumed he wouldn't try and do this?

Re: humping problem
It isn't something that will stop because a dog's been neutered - even bitches will hump!
All you can do is keep training. He's at full physical maturity now, and will be testing his strength - humping is a way of saying "I'm more in charge than you" which is why a lot of dogs object quite strongly to it being done to them.
Does he respond well to treats?

Re: humping problem
Yes, if he even looks like he's going to start, call him away with a treat at first. Once he'll come away every time reduce the treats to every second time & gradually reduce them that way.

Re: humping problem
Zeus used to do this to me now and again, but mainly with my sister. Whenever he done it, we told him off (firm NO), picked him up and put him in the kitchen as a punishment. He done it now and again for a few weeks after that, but stopped, after always getting chucked (not literally) in another room.
