Humping
Over the past couple of weeks Oz has rake a 'liking' to my sofa cushions. He pinches one wraps his firing paws around it and gives it a good humping
It's very odd as he has never fond this before, he was castrated before we got him but that was nearly two years ago
Anybody know why he gas a oassion for my cushions?
He even takes them to bed???

Re: Humping
There's a little terrier fluffy moved in next door but he can't see her doesn't seem aggressive towards her, they sniff at the fence together then oz has a bark and leaves it alone. Aldo strange as he normally hates any other dog? No way would introduce them too dangerous but he's just nit bothered about her. There was an intact Labrador boy dog before which Oz hated to bits and would try and jump the fence to getat?.

Re: Humping
I've got a girl but she's a humper lol!! Would you say it's only started since the dog next door moved in? He might be okay with her if she's smaller/female.

Re: Humping
Thinking about it! I think it has only started happening since she moved next door, she barks at him, he stands next to the fence sniffing then runs off, totally out of character as he is normally the aggressor they can't see each other and so etimes she isn't even in her garden. It's very strange behaviour from him?..

Re: Humping
Can I just say my brothers dog is female and humps her bed.... just wanted to share
However to answer the question Dizzy every now and then tries to hump things. He has been done and still thinks it is fun. From what you have said sounds like the lady next door may be causing a bit of mischief - what does he do if you tell him no? Is he possessive over the cushion? Does he seem stressed? Has he get something else to release the stress - like a chew toy or tug toy?
Sounds like he may need a different way to vent issues. With Dizz he responds to being told no and then when he stops we play tug and pet him to let him release energy and calm him down.
Hope it helps
xx

Re: Humping
Totally agree with "SuziPea" sounds like tension relief. Could you redirect him to a game of raggy or something else high energy that will tire him out? Bug will hump people if she's over excited; it's just tension release for her, little weirdo.

Re: Humping
He gets very possessive over the cushion grabs it between his front paws under his chest and in his mouth them runs around with it I'll get a toy out for him and do some tug with him to take his mind off it. Once he has forgotten about it he's fine. Definitely a nut job, silly sausage. Thanks for your help

Re: Humping
Vin does it with his bed but its only after his tea! I think its just excitement nothing really sexual. Perhaps he is just excited to have a new friend next door. If ts yer cushions though Sara you may need to distract him!

Oh i wish Fred took to a cushion, with him its my leg, he doesnt respond to "NO" or play or any thing else that I have tried to distract him. I only picked him up today, but this is one thing that I cannot cope with.
