Dog wee killing my grass!
Hi all, I was wondering why it is dog wee seems to kill off my grass...is it a myth that it normally is female dogs that do this as mine is a male dog yet I still have patches where he has been.
Is there something I can put on the grass to stop this please?
He is 6 months at the moment so dont know if age has anything to do with it.

It's a myth, all dog pee ruins grass eventually.

I got rid of all grass etc in both my gardens when I first got my house. Logan has done a great job of ruining my parenst lawn though

mine is goosed too , all we do now is keep it tidy as we can and keep filling in the holes that the little buggers dig up

I think the only thing you could do if want the grass back is to re seed the lawn.

Re: Dog wee killing my grass!
yes you need to water it in immidiately. There is a tablet from the vets that stops it killing grass but it can give the dog cystitis and make them have bladder infections. Watering is best. Our male doesnt kill our grass though

Re: Dog wee killing my grass!
i found dog rocks seemed to work last year, they didnt rescue the grass, but certainly seemed to put a stop to any new patches

Haha this is exactly the same as dragon! He cocks his leg on the washing like and the grass there is yellow the places he tends to wee the most is where the grass is funny lol also when he has a poo he flicks backwards and all the mud and grass go flying you can't have a nice garden with a staffy;)

I bought these this week and waiting to see what the results are - I am putting my house on the market and trying to make the lawn look a bit better. They are literally large rocks which cost me 12.99- hubby said they seen me coming and I could have taken rocks off the beach They have to be replaced every couple of months too. Anyway, this is what the 'makers' say
Dog Rocks do not alter the pH balance of your dog's uring making them safe for your pet. They are made from naturally occuring paramagnetic igneous rock which is known to increas Boron, Barium, Manganese and Strontium while decreasing tin levels in water.
There are no known harmful effects on dogs when the Directions for Use printed on the packet are followed.
I will have to wait for 5 weeks to see if it works.

Re: Dog wee killing my grass!
Does it depend what food they are on whether they kill the grass? Didn't happen with my last dog (RIP Freddie) but with the two I have now there are several dead patches they are on different food to my last dog.
