Re: my puppy dont like her collar
its all about them getting used to it.. praise her when you put it on and give her a treat.. Let her just wear it around the house all day to get used to it.

not even for treats will she come to you?
What collar is it?
is it too loose or tight?
Its all about them forgetting its on them.

If she's really frightened of it, you need to just get her used to seeing it first. Praise her and treat her while you're holding it - and get her used to the snapping sound. Over time, build up to stroking her with it and laying it around her neck.
Be patient, and she'll get used to it. Just make sure you don't force her too far out of her comfort zone.
Or, if she's not too worried, get her to wear it while you play an amazing game with her. If she's focused on doing things with you, she'll barely notice it. I also slipped Rogers on when he was super sleepy, so he just went to bed instead of worrying.

Re: my puppy dont like her collar
she wont move from where she is hiding for anything, its just a normal collar and i dont think its too lose, i know its not too tight.... i got her playing with her toy for about a minute and then she went into hiding again and even when i took her collar off she still hid for a while, shaking

Re: my puppy dont like her collar
Try just putting it on her for a few minutes then take it off and give her praise and a treat. Do you have a light weight one to pop on her for a few weeks until she is used to it being there.

Re: my puppy dont like her collar
Tommy did exactly the same thing when I first showed him his collar. I couldn't get him to come out from behind the sofa. In the end I just left it on him and carried on doing my normal stuff. I didn't make a fuss and carried on watching TV, then it came to meal time and soon forgot he was wearing it.

Re: my puppy dont like her collar
Try leaving it out so that she can see it and than put it on for short amounts of time while using positive reinforcement. Don't worry it's very normal

Re: my puppy dont like her collar
what kind of collar is it ?? for our 2 they just got little light puppy collars from PAH and they were fine , it was the lead that potentially could cause problems, however our breeder for Tommy had them in different coloured collars since they were quite young to help people identify them in pics, so Tommy was once Mr Grey

Re: my puppy dont like her collar
A lot of pups hate their first collar. As people have already said, it's usually a matter of slowly getting the pup used to it - don't push her too much.
You could start off with just placing the collar near her, allowing her to sniff it. If that's too much for her, you could leave it a little distance away from her and gradually decrease that distance as she settles down. Remember to keep praising her!
The important thing is to take it slow and easy. Introduce it in a safe environment for her.
