No more crate Empty No more crate

Post by debtom Sat Feb 02 2013, 11:35

Caley has been out of her crate during the day for quite a few months now and is very good. Tonight however we are going to attempt letting her sleep out of her crate....gulp..

Her crate is beside our bed so we will leave it there in case she wants to go in, but we have brought her a lovely new bed with matress and lots of blanket, I fear she might try and get on our bed though as she loves our morning snuggles under the bed covers. Any tips on how to get her stay in her new bed at night, I don't mind her on our bed early morning time, but she is a fidget bum and would drive me mad all night lol

Wish me luck Big Grin

I just left the crate as Dempsey's bed - didn't bother with a new one.

We did think to leave the crate as her only bed but I am a sucker for buying her new things Big Grin

The kids have made sure their bedrooms are clear of anything she can get as they are hoping she will go sleep with them oh we'll at least I got them to clear their rooms Laughing I reckon we will wake up and she will be with one of them

If she's used to the crate as her bed, I would keep it around for a while, just in case. She may feel safer there! Smile

Yes, but let's face it, if Dempsey had the choice of being in his crate or being on one of our beds, he'd choose the beds every time! Rolling Eyes

Definitely! Laughing But he'd throw a wobbly if we took away his crate!

He'd like it if we put his crate on one of our beds. Tongues

I think caley will ignore her crate she has put up a fight to go in it at night recently, although once in she is fine. I reckon my fight will definitely be the bed lol...

Rocky sleeps on our bed all night and doesn't really fidget about too much once he is settled and sleeping. Every morning we wake up to find him under the duvet and snuggled up to one us though which makes it very difficult to get out of bed on those cold mornings.

If he is used to his own bed then dont encourage him onto yours, stick to the routine you want him to follow.
