Looking at raw feeding
I'm looking at raw feeding bells who is 13 weeks old but after some advice.
I'm not too far away from daf foods and was thinking of going there this weekend to buy her som e food,I was looking at minced chicken and minced lamb.
It says its got bone and stuff minced in with it now would that be enough?or do I need to feed more bone?

Re: Looking at raw feeding
I prefer not to feed the mince, mainly because
a. Dempsey loves to have a good chew at a bone &
b. A raw meaty bone cleans the teeth & makes the meal more satisfying for the dog.
You'll also need to feed a small amount of offal a couple of times a week.
DAF also do frozen bones of all sorts as far as I know. I don't use them myself because they don't deliver to my area.

Re: Looking at raw feeding
You wouldn't harm her! Why not just try her on a couple of chicken wings to start with & see how she gets on? If you're worried about her swallowing them without chewing you can either give them frozen, or hold on to the end until you're in danger of having your fingers follow it!

Re: Looking at raw feeding
You work out 2-3% of her expected adult weight (I used the top end of the KC Breed Standard for my pup) so 2-3% of 15kg is 300-450g, then you work out the 80/10/10. 240/30/30 or 360/45/45, these are just a rough guideline though. Some dogs need more bone, others need less. Just go by her body condition and be on poop watch !
