Allowable foods
As we have a thread for dangerous foods...i thought it would be a good idea to have a post for foods that your Staffords (& Dempsey) like and enjoy! I didnt know you could them raw egg, shell included until i read it on here!!
So far Logan likes...
1)Sardines (favourite)
2)Minced lamb
3)Tripe
Please feel free to carry on with any foods you give them..........

Re: Allowable foods
I get these long strips from the market, there just short of a metre and are the skin of the top of a cows head, no idea what there called, similar material to a pigs ear, but a lot more withstanding, lasts her about 45mins and I only give half at a time, but they don't half stink, so she only has them occasionally!

used to get big beef knuckles from the butcher ..... but shady takes dakota's from her and then gets all monster like if she tries to get it back . so i just stick to chicken portions , asda smart price chickens , cut for saute save alot of money buying the birds whole

Unfortunately things like that aren't recommended for EBT's because they try to swallow them whole. They are really so thick.

Re: Allowable foods
Oh yeah we cant give Skibadee any rawhhide or strips of anything because she tries to swallow them whole and regurgitates them with a load of gross white froth and slime where shes been chewing it at the same time. urgh!

Urgh its horrible Carly, she makes this disgusting noise aswell at the same time. I try telling her to chew it but she just keeps trying to swallow them until it eventually goes down or i take it away!

Nice!
The big problem with rawhide is that it's dried. Therefore if a large piece is swallowed it could swell in the stomach & cause a blockage. Believe me, Dempsey can swallow huge pieces of anything given the oportunity!
