Re: Male parts help.
The discharge is normal at that age but the colour is usual determined on the amount they have drunk. I'm not too sure though

Re: Male parts help.
If his urine is darker than usual, it usually indicates dehydration. Judging from the amount you say he drinks and how often he urinates, there may possibly be an infection or obstruction.
Is there any odour and/or irritation around the area?

He isnt licking or trying to get at it or anything.

Re: Male parts help.
When he tries to urinate, does he seem to be in any discomfort? And does he ever squat/* his leg and nothing comes out?

Re: Male parts help.
It could be a normal discharge called smegma, all male dogs have it but I think its more noticeable if they haven't been castrated. But if it smells unpleasant or the dog keeps licking it then I would suspect an infection which would need a Vets attention.

Re: Male parts help.
Hmm. I'd wait and see if it continues for a while. If it does, you may want to consider a trip to the vets to make sure there are no infections or blockages. If you're concerned about an infection, you could take a urine sample down to the vets yourself and they could analyse it.

Sorry to jump in with nothing constructive to add but how would you take a urine sample from a dog?

With a high risk of getting peed on! You'd need to take a jug with you on walks, and stick it underneath when they start to pee.

Very loudly.
And there's always somebody around to think we're murdering him.

Re: Male parts help.
Pale yellow is his sheath lube, sorry to be so graphic. If it turns greenish and smells it can be sign of infection. You can pull back and wash if your brave, ive had to do my boy once and he was okay again after a day just look out for redness and prolonged green smeg and smell whereby a trp to vet is best for a checkup.

Mind you, the easiest way is to politely ask him to pee in the jug which you'll just place on the floor for him. I'm sure he'll oblige as long as you turn your back - you don't want to embarrass him!
