Other half isn't talking to me!

A couple of weeks ago we went as usual to watch MK Lightning play Guildford (Ice Hockey). Now, don't ask me why, but my oh hates Guildford with a vengeance - no particular reason, just does.

I'm all in favour of a bit of passion when you're watching your team play, it's great to have an atmosphere. Even some friendly bantering amongst the two sets of supporters is fine. And normally that's all we get at MK. However, my oh took exception to a Guildford guy & they started to exchange words. To cut a long story short, my oh was ready to punch this guy's lights out by half way through the game & what made it worse was MK lost!

Now, I'm a passifist (ok, you can all get up off the floor & stop laughing - it's actually true!) and I hate violence - honestly - so I spent most of the game trying to diffuse the situation. However............

Yesterday, Guilford came a visiting again. I told my oh that I didn't want a repeat of before & he'd better hold his temper in check. "Of course" he said, "No problem!"

Meaning, of course, that exactly the same thing happened. So, at the end of the 1st period I told him that if he kept it up I was going to leave & wait outside because he was becoming violent & his language was getting progressivly worse (Ice Hockey is a family sport - there are always loads of kids watching & swearing is frowned upon).

He hasn't said a word to me since. ~

He not talking cos he is in a huff with you or because he has been told off and he's sulking?

Well I can only appologise from Guildford .......................(where I live lol)

Well, we don't go to away games much - and I really don't think that going to Guildford at the mo is such a good idea!

Honestly, though, he's such a baby! I mean, he's 58 this year, you'd think he would have grown out of that sort of thing years ago!

Men, as stated, are big babies when it comes to sport, they have a word for it................passion...........mmmmmmm not too sure!!

Do women just get used to us men being big babies and learn to ignore us. Just sometimes I don't think the Mrs can even hear me slamming the doors

Me? I'm fine - he's the one who's suffering, I'm just getting on with it all! I've known him for, what, 30 years & he's been the same, on & off, since I first met him!

I think the trouble is he can handle himself - he was a boxer (light heavy) and a rugby player (Gordon League & Gloucester) in his younger days & has kept pretty fit (unlike me!) so he can't see anything wrong with mixing it a bit. I just prefer to keep the peace.

He'll get over it, probably by tomorrow morning!

Us men will be men.......sometimes I think we cant help it even though if it was someone else we would think idiot.
If you know you can handle yourself and the person you are arguing with is a numpty us men feel the only way we can get our point across is to bash them in
Like you said by tomorrow he will probably be back to being calm and hopefully back to his normal happy self
