Boarding Kennels Empty Re: Boarding Kennels

I know of Royvons from many years ago. They used to run a very successful GSD breeding establishment -

This is my favourite all time GSD - Ch. Royvons red Rum, my own pic of him (although sadly from a line that passed on epilepsy!)

They were also a training/boarding establishment, but I don't know whether that side is any good. All I do know is that they have been going for at least 40 years, so can't be all that bad!

Thanks Caryll, I've spoken to them, and it sounds great. There's a few different packages, you can have 3* , 4* and 5* which can include training aswell as your chosen activities and boarding. Smile They also have an open door policy, so I'll pop down there.

I knew Roy & Yvonne James, the original owners (both, sadly, passed away now - Ron dying very young), and I believe it's their son & daughter who run it now. Very approachable, but as I say, I don't know much about them nowadays.

First impressions mean a lot, and i dont like the picture of two dogs with docked tails as their main photo. Of course im sure this has nothing to do with them its just a photo, but still.

Many years ago we put our Staff in Kennels, she was never the same again, personality changed and she turned very aggressive, The quality of the Kennel was fantastic but she could not handle the ordeal emotionally of being seperated from us.
Any friends or family he could stay with instead?

Boarding Kennels Empty Re: Boarding Kennels

I'm interested in seeing how this thread pans out. We are looking for somewhere for our little one to go when we go on our hols, and I am weary of kennelling her. There is a Royvon in Coventry (not far from us) that at least looks like they would give her lots of attention and play time. It seems to be the kennels I would want, if I wanted to kennel her.

The alternative seems to be the dog sitter route, but unless they're very experienced in rescue dogs "with issues" I'm not sure how she'd get on.

I just don't know what's for the best worried

Not always possible Janey! Sad I didn't realise when we got her that staffy crosses are category 1 dangerous dogs (and therefore banned) in France and Germany. My brother's a soldier based in Germany.. worried So need a solution.
