what food
hi i have a 12 month old male who i have had 2 months when i got him he was on wagg dry food, i put him on iams but ended up in the vets a month ago with blocked anal glands and and dermititus which cleared up for a while, after reading about protiens and allergys have not given him any rawhides or bones and was giving him chicken or beef sausage (weebox make) because they have all caused him upset his face turns pinky red he gets itchy and was going to the toilet 4 or 5 times a day, have just put him on wainwrights which pets at home said was good, the girl i spoke to said her staff was white and was the same as rocky and was fine on waiwrights food, he has been on it for 5 days with a big improvment he is a lot better now he is not red and sleepy he is more playful in himself now and alert and he goes to toilet about 1 or 2 times a day an is not wanting to pea every 2 hours, is wainwrights a good food for him to be on ? he is just having wainwrits biskits at the moment, do i give him raw meat or tinned meat with his biskits? what would be best for him as it has to be low in protens not to upset him or is there a beter food than wainwrights ? any help will be much appricated

Re: what food
It really depends on needs , budget and dogs but personally my 2 were both on Wainwrights from the day they entered our homes , swapped to Fish4dogs for a couple of months and then back to Wainwrights when they got bored. Not the cheapest food and certainly not the dearest but mine are happy on it and thats what counts , it's a good mid price range food , Wagg and Iams you should just forget they ever existed

Re: what food
My 2 are raw fed. Had my male on a few different kibbles - Royal Canin, Fish4Dogs, Pero SBT, Eden was the most recent but eventually he got bored and would refuse to eat. Now he's raw fed and is much better for it!

Re: what food
I feed raw as well, but Wainwights is one of the better mid-price dog foods.
You don't need to mix anything with it, but some dogs get bored with just dry food & need something mixed in - half a can of sardines in oil, or a raw egg, or even a little boiled chicken from time to time.

Re: what food
I also feed RAW. Blue never had problems on kimble but he just wouldn't eat for days. Wainwrights was the only one he stuck with for a few months. Good food for the cost, due to middle men being cut out of the selling process.
Let us know if Rocky keeps improving on it
