Having never owned a staffy before, you tend to only hear bad news stories... so i was a little hesitant in taking on a rescue. it was the best decision i ever made!! i love this little guy to bits, and at 18mths old... he only has one bad behaviour.... he wanders!

he's a happy, social dog - and when we're at work, he goes looking for company. the yard is fenced (high) but he manages to find a way out.... we close him under the house.... he finds a way out....

what works? i dont want to resort to keeping him on a chain for 8 hours while we're at work, and im trying to avoid a containment collar.

Is there any tried and true methods of keeping a staffy in a yard? im willing to put work in!

Could you not ask a freind or relative to walk him. I dont think keeping him on a chain for 8 hours is a good thing. Why dont you keep him in the house is there any reason why you cant? If he is a rescue dog he will need more care and attention than any other. Also would consider getting a higher fence if your going to keep him outside

If you have to keep him outside a fence that slants inward at the top will prevent him from getting out. Also be sure there isn't anything near the fence he can get on top of.
