Food Aggressive Dog Empty Food Aggressive Dog

Hi All just after a bit of advice.

We have just got an 11 week old SBT (bailey), we also have a 6yr old female black lab (Rosie), who is the softest dog in the world until it comes to dinner time. she used to be ok until we rescued another black lab male who was food aggressive and they had a big scrap. Unfortunately the male lab had to be PTS because of illness.

Bailey and rosie get on absolutely great, they play fight all day, and sleep together all night, couldn't ask for more

Anyway, now as i already know rosie can be a bit snappy (only around other dogs/ cats, and never the kids) around her food ive decided to feed both dogs separately, all i want to know is that the right way of doing it or should i feed them together and let rosie show him who is boss (theoretically speaking) so he knows to stay away from her food, all im worried about is that when bailey is fully grown, rosie snapping at him could result in injury....to her, and the last thing i want is for bailey to learn to become food aggressive just because rosie is.

Alternatively has anyone any tips on stopping rosie being so food aggressive?

HELP confused

What form does the possessiveness take? Is it all the time or just under certain circumstances?

Its just if the puppy or cats go near to her while she is eating she will growl and snap at them, or if one of the kids has left their food on the coffee table she wont let the puppy or cats in the room, she's fine with us and the kids though

I'd just correct her, to be honest. If it isn't directed at humans, then she's just sorting out the hierarchy with the other animals. Just be aware & correct it as necessary.
