High-Protein Food?

This is a bit of a weird question but anyway...my cousin has a Staff and he wants to build up her muscles a bit, exercise her a bit more and etc., and asked me if I could find out if there's any food to give her that's high in protein because of it. I don't know if that makes a difference, but thought I'd ask anyway

Beyond a certain threshold point, excess protein will be converted to by-products and excreted.

High protein intake vis a vis excess consumption by a certain number of grams, as opposed to foods with a high protein ratio, is also linked, perhaps not conclusively, to various maladies in pups and, arguably, older dogs.

General exercise will not greatly increase the need for protein as it should be adequately fuelled by fats and sugars. Strenuous time-under-tension exercises such as sledging will, though.

So basically (to dumb it down for my benefit ) there's no need to add more protein to her diet just for general exercise?

That's essentially right, within certain constraints - ie within a minimum and maximum amount ingested.

If you want to condition a dog, look at its fats and fatty acid intake and look at restricting simple carbohydrate and fillers.

good diet, and lots of different exercises is whats needed
