crying-moaning-humping!!
driving me nuts !!!!
my mums teacup chiwawa is on heat, she got a male 1 to-and thats trying to hump her- we arent letting him but anyway back to my staffy.
he wont settle, all day for the past 2-3 days all he has done is moan, he will wake me up about 7am moaning, then moan all day more less till about midnight when he drops of !
he has tried humping a snowman, rudolf, and myself, ive pulled him of everytime.
any tips on how to calm him down, ive had a headache for the past 24 hours, he does seem to stop moaning when you smooth him, but soon as you stop -on your arm he climbs.
-santa almost had it the minute i posted this !

Re: crying-moaning-humping!!
How old is he? Has anything changed recently (diet, exercise, etc.)?
If you can't think of any reason for him to suddenly be like this, for the humping just continue doing what you're doing, maybe distract him with a bit of playtime. As for the moaning, what do you mean, whining/crying?

If that's the case, it's probably the female dog being in heat, no? Just have to put up with it and keep an eye on him I guess

Re: crying-moaning-humping!!
Undoubtedly the female dog being on heat is the problem. What a frustration for Bronx, all those "come and get me" pheromones wafting around day and night.
You'll have to put up with Bronx's distress for now until the bitch's season passes, and just try to distract him as much as possible.
Then, if you are going to continue living with your mum and her chihuahuas, then something needs to be sorted - if your mum doesn't want her bitch to breed, then spaying her will stop both her male chihuahua's and your male staffie's frustration. If she wants her chihuahuas to breed, then it would be kinder to your Staffy to get him neutered.
