Canny Collar Competition - The Winners Are.....
Adult Dog Over Two Years After a tie, the casting vote was for....
Densil
Densil is 4 but we have only had him 9 months and he was never taken for walks before so consequently he pulls on the lead. He is really strong and loves to drag me into bushes when he finds a nice smell, or pulls when he sees cats/dogs and cars. We have tried the harness with a double ended lead, a halti and a dogmatic collar, and even both a harness and a halti together. None of them have stopped him pulling, they just give me a bit more control to hang on to him when he does pull. Also, since I have been using the dogmatic he shakes like a leaf when I put it on and is reluctant to go out the door for his walk which is most unusual. I would like to try the canny collar to see if this will help.
Adult Bitch Over two Years
Maddie
We adopted Maddie just over a month ago. She had got so stressed in kennels. She is improving but can be a nightmare on a lead, especially when she sees other dogs. Maddie has had a lot of bad luck and needs all the help she can get, especially when out and about. We would be very interested in trying a canny collar, and would make sure Maddie told you all about her experiences with it.
Juvenile Dog 12 Months to 2 Years
Buster 15 months
I would like to try a canny collar for my 15 month old boy buster
He was a private rescue from a person I have know for a rew years. They got him because they liked my girl Skye. The only problem was until I got him at 5-6 months old he was never socialised or out of his cadge as he was a bit nippy with their kids.
When we started taking him out he was petrified and every noise would make him cower now after a long battle he loves going out but will now pull if he wants to see something.
He is also nervous aggressive with other dogs as his first couple of dogs he meet apart from Skye the owners didn't put them on leads and they pounced on him chasing him up my leg and into my arms, so he now will snap if they come too close. As a responsible owner I do muzzle him around other dogs but it seems to make him worse. But it's the best of two evils at the moment.
We do socialise him as much as he can stand but progress is slow as we do seem to be avoided more. I would love to be able to say that my boy was a bit more relaxed when meeting other dogs and still have the control over his sharp end.
Thankyou
Juvenile Bitch 12 Months to 2 Years
Tilly Nearly 2 years
I would love to have the chance to try a canny collar!!
Tilly is coming up for 2 years (we think) and was an ex death row poundie, she has absolutely no respect for herself or any lead i've tried so far, down to slip leads half checks soft harnesses she pulls and pulls, to a point anything on her neck she will pull that much she will really hurt herself, the first slip lead she came with was so bad that she had hurt her throat and couldnt eat for 2 days and was sick and sore for days after! (imagine the dog near on walking on her back legs waving her front legs out to the sides and you're pretty much there!!)
we have started doing agility where she is even stronger than normal as all she wants to do is get on with it
she is such a sweet loving little dog and every body simply adores her but the pulling is taking its toll, the control harnesses are hurting her delicate armpits and i'm at a real loss what to do these days can canny collar help me? i would love to be able to go out for a nice walk with both my girls and not have others look at me like i'm crazy! (ok maybe i am but......)
i would be more than happy to document before during and after with photos if required too!

Re: Canny Collar Competition - The Winners Are.....
I honestly can't wait to give the progress. Been using a haltI since this started and it's helping but I don't like the control point where it is. She is more controllable but doesn't like it.
Merry Xmas everyone!!

Re: Canny Collar Competition - The Winners Are.....
Congratulations all of you, and well done Caryll in sorting out the winners (Staffs are such pullers, it must have been difficult decisions in all categories).
Winners of the Canny Collars - do let us know how you and yours dogs get on with them.
And a Merry Christmas to all!

The lady sent me an email yesterday to say she had emailed the winners. If you still haven't heard by tomorrow, try emailing her on.... donna@cannyco.com
This is a copy of the email she sent to the winners...
Congratulations to you all for being the Winners of The Canny Collar competition. I have read all your entries and you really are all deserving winners, and I hope we can really help to make a difference.
Its really important that we get the right size to you and as Staffy's all vary in size so much could you please check our size guide - usually Staffy's are on a size 3 or 4, you need to measure the neck higher than where the standard collar sits and it needs to be a snug fit.
http://www.cannyco.com/the-canny-collar-stops-pulling-on-lead-choosing-the-right-size
If you need any help on this then don't hesitate to get in touch with me either by email or phone my details are below.
You also have a colour choice of either black, blue, pink or red so if you could come back to me asap with the size and colour choice we will get them out to you first class.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
