a quick question
I got some bones from the butcher this morning. Charlie loved it and demolished it, Star had a good chew on a small one. She's been fine all day and eaten as usual. But has now decided to vomit on my bed! So my question is do I give her her supper or just skip it this evening? She's fine in her self and I'm pretty sure that its just because she had a chomp on that bone. TIA

Re: a quick question
If she is ok in herself and not giving you cause for concern then i would proceed as normal

Re: a quick question
The bone has probably overloaded Star's tummy.
she's still only tiny (8 weeks?) so personally I wouldnt skip her supper, but offer something bland like scrambled egg. If she leaves it, she leaves it but you've given her the option.
she'll probably feel a lot better tomorrow.
do let us know how she gets on.

Re: a quick question
Was it a marrow bone? If it was, it was probably too rich for her.
I'd give her some tea, but as Lynda says, give her something gentle on her tum like scrambled eggs or mashed potato!

thanks, she's fine in herself, as mischievous as ever and was barking at me after she done it whilst I was changing the bedding. She's 12 weeks now and such a piggy, shes always looking for food lol. She just chewed on it but Charlie did crunch his so I reckon she hoovered up after him. A little surprised its taken 8 hours to upset her tum, unless of course, shes managed to pinch something else!

Re: a quick question
Glad to hear that Star is acting normally.
personally, I have found that bones are a bit too much for puppies to assimilate - I have had scares with my pup with tummy aches etc.
I am only just now, when Kuchar is almost 12 months old, letting him have a bone occasionally, taking it away when I feel he has gone at it a bit too long.
Incidentally - look at the poo after feeding a bone. If it's white then the excess calcium has been eliminated from the dog's body - the dog's body will only take what it needs, the rest is eliminated.

Thanks again, she's had some rice mixed in with a few biscuits. (Hubby had the last eggs in his packed lunch grrr!) She didn't eat much but has drank and had a run around in the garden. Now they are both cuddled up together snoring at my feet.
