When should a puppys testicles drop?

My dog is almost 5 months and still only has 1 fuzzy marble. The vet said he felt the other one in the canal, has anyone else had a situation like this? If so when did the other testicle drop if ever? I am going to wait till he is a year if it comes to that and if it doesn't drop have him neutered

Hmm. Not sure. Mine all had them by that time. Probably nothing to worry about if the vet wasn't.

Marley's dropped late, but my vet made it very clear that if the other didnt drop he would HAVE to be neaurtered due to the issues of health that arise with one being undecended, lucky for us the other did drop

By 12 weeks id say?

They're normally fully descended by 6 months. However it can be as late as 15 months.

I'd say, though, that if it isn't in place by a year you ought to make arrangements for neutering. An undecended testicle can turn cancerous in later life.

There is nothing a vet can do, you just have to wait and hopefully within a few months both our dogs will have two fuzzy marbles.

There's no rush. Next time you're at the vets just ask them if they can feel it. The vet will be used to searching for the testicles so he might be able to locate it even if you can't. Sometimes it can be felt a little way down the shaft, and will drop around 6-9 months old. If it hasn't dropped by 12 months you'll have to consider getting him castrated.

our vet checked out noah for his nuts and hernia's, undescended nuts and hernia's are quite common in staffy's , luckily noah was ok.
