Cassie was mesmerised by my koi in the pic in september .But i think she was confused this morning because she couldn't understand why she couldn't see them through the ice lol

Do you have frozen fish or are they OK at the bottom of the pond ??

The pond is 4 feet deep 10 feet round so the fish should be safe, and i have air permenently pumped into it and moves a tennis ball so it never totally freezes hopefully, but it is driving Cassie mad that she can't get the ball under the bridge lol

my dads fish barrel froze last year and i felt so bad cause one fish had got frozen in it lol

Never needed to actually break the ice, i have always left air being pumped in so even if it does freeze totally air is still forcing out the gasses through gaps around the tennis ball that moves in the bubbles. And i always make sure all natural vegetation that decomposes is taken out. And hayley you never touched your dads fish barrell did you? like your mums christmas ornaments Tongues

When I was a girl (many years ago, I know) my Dad used to keep Koi carp in a pond, that was until the heron decide to have them all away. Needless to say he was not too pleased. Crying or Very sad

They did all survive many a harsh winter though
