Re: Dog Run Toilet Training
you shouldn't just leave them out there in the early days you should be there watching them and praising them when they do go. TBH I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a dog run ??

Its just a 9foot by 9foot square out in the garden with a fence around it so he cant roam around the garden. Ok ill try that and see how it goes thanks

Re: Dog Run Toilet Training
How old is your dog? What's his name?
Perhaps you could give us a little introduction to you both here....

Shouldn't just leave them; if they do it when you're not there, they get neither punishment nor praise, so they don't know they're doing anything right. If you stay out there with him, praise him loads when he does something, and he'll soon realise that going to the toilet in the dog run is what makes you happy, so he'll pick it up that way. It doesn't really make a difference that it's a dog run, the same rules apply, really.

Re: Dog Run Toilet Training
a pup should have supervision etc when he does a wee poo etc he should be praised and treat given. I imagine it would be hard to toilet train while in a run in the garden with no one watching
