Innocent staffy Empty Innocent staffy

Post by pal Mon Nov 26 2012, 14:00

Just read on an other forum about this poor staffy who has been attacked by a westie and the westie nearly took his eye out. The westie owner was standing there happy and prooud of the attack. When the staffy finally defended himself, the westie owner called the police and is trying to get the staffy put down. This is all because even though it wasn't the staffy fault, the staffy owner offered to pay for vet bills.

I told him to get in touch with deed not breed and dda straight away.
If it comes to it, i said he could create pages, get signatures and get trainers and experts to help.
Any other help you can think of?

Hopefully nothing will happen and the police will understand the staffy only defended himself.

It hurts so much to read about these things.

Sounds awful Sad you wonder how they were all stood there so long for it to get to that stage, any dog has got a limit on how far it can be pushed. Same with any animal.

I read it on an other forum, the staffy owner said he will know on thursday what will happen but he does have witnesses who saw the westie attack first and the westie owner not do anything about it.
I will keep my fingers crossed for him.

At least he has a witness to who started it. Cannot believe the westie owner just stood there and didn't control his dog Sad So irresponsible.

A dog attacking a dog is not a crime, it is HIGHLY unlikely the dog will get put down. I would advise the owner to phone the police and make their own statement against the westie owner and not be afraid that causing a fuss will bring attention to their breed of dog.

Any dog out of control should be reported, and in this case the westie was. So tell them to report.

I did tell him to say his part to the police calmly. Hopefully it will all go well.
But I did read and heard of staffies being seized and put down because they attacked an other dog and therefor considered dangerous.

That would only happen if the dog was considered dangerously out of control. In this case he wasn't, and was just defending himself. With witnesses, he should be ok.

I was replying to hailey about not being a crime a dog attacking an other dog. If you report a dog out of control to the police, they in ther way assess the dog and if deemed dangerous could ask for the dog to be put down so he could happen and with all the prejudice against staffies he was worried and i thought what better place then this forum to ask for help so i asked for advice, i didnt mean for the topic to go on what happens if a dog gets an other dog.

Theres no reason the staffie should be put down, just for definding himself, if anything its the westie that should be put down and it might just stop all the prejudge against our staffies angry But report it he should, as the westie owner allowed that to happen, and that is not one reponsible owner >Smile

Well I would *** make sure that this is the case! (Sorry but I am so mad at how unfair it all is, the poor staffie, must be getting poked and probed just to see if hes safe!)

even if it was reported its still unlikely to get called out of controll cause out of control is off leash and attacking everything and going totally mental and being unable to be stopped. Which is obv not the case here.
