Hey all....i'm looking for some advice regarding my 10 week old pup, i previously posted about her resource guarding and received some useful advice regarding ways to combat it which i have been using and am starting to see the effects...well so far so good anyway!
However just in the last day or so she has become quite nippy towards us all....she'll play for so long then start mouthing/biting....sometimes quite forcefully....i've tried saying "no" followed by a treat of carrots (which she loves)...but even tho i've been sticking at it it doesn't seem to be working very well.
I totally appreciate shes only a puppy and that she needs to learn right from wrong and that this takes time but shes just so stubborn....
All comments will be appreciated....i've been readin various posts on this and all you guys are so helpful Big Grin

It is perfectly natural puppy behaviour, there are some great methods to stop it though Big Grin Have a read of this and hopefully it works for you

It's normal for it to take a while. I didn't see any noticeable changes in Loki's biting until about two months or so later Laughing and I felt like it wasn't working, but it was, just...very slowly. So no worries, just be patient and keep doing what you're doing.

Her gums might be irritating her, she'll be starting to lose her puppy teeth soon. Give her something to chew on, maybe a stag bar or a frozen carrot to ease the discomfort.

Frozen carrots help to numb the gums and take a few minutes to get through! Sonic loves them and frozen chopped grapes!

to stop her nipping try when she does it too hard just give a little yelp and say no turn away and don't give her attention for about 2-3 mins then turn back and play with her and give her treats this worked well for chaos took about 2 weeks for him to completely stop he only doe it now if im playing rough with him
