You have to be firm. Close your eyes to those pathetic sad, dark pools staring at you with the ears folded right back & the tail drooping down.........
Nah! Give in & get some more coffee & biscuits!

I have divorced for less but Cassie is better looking and behaved than the ex.And the fact she's nuttier than a almond tree buys her some forgiveness ,but i thought it was the change in diet that was helping her put on weight but she obviously has a taste for my custard creams

Now you know not to be so careless with your food lying around or it automatically becomes Cassie's food. Rule number one of the home, that is

Leave anything edible (and sometimes inedible) in reach of Dempsey's chops & it'll be gone down the black hole of his throat!
I made myself a sandwich one day & cut it into 4 pieces. I put it on a plate & left it on the work surface by my cooker. When I came back, there was one pice less & Dempsey was sitting very nicely, looking all innocent!

Hehe, that reminds me of the Dog House Rules poster:
1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If it's in my mouth, it's mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
5. If it's mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
6. If I'm chewing something up, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it just looks like mine, it's mine.
8. If I saw it first, it's mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it's broken, it's yours.

Will never forget that one!
I've lost count of the number of underwear he's chewed up. Remember the jumper with the hole that he chewed through it?

Ah, okay. Couldn't remember if I told you, and I was too lazy to walk down to the living room to ask.

That is exactly how they have us all trained so well. Can't eat much of anything without sharing... pouty eyes, thumping tail... I try to harden my heart, but alas, it is futile. I am too well trained.

Re: Cassie for adoption any takers??
We have to thank Fiver's previous owner for the fantastic training they gave him. We can leave anything edible or not within reach and he won't touch it unless he's told it's OK.
We even leave his bag of dried food open at the back of his bed in the kitchen and he never once has tried to eat from the bag. Seems like he's one well trained Staffy, I just wish we could take the credit for it LOL.
You're all right though it is impossible to remain annoyed with these lovable dogs for more than a nanosecond
