Teeth!
Not sure which category this should be in, but thought I'd just plonk it in here..
How often do you clean your dogs teeth? And what do you use?

Re: Teeth!
Rarely - he's fed raw so his teeth are quite good. Eleanor does clean them sometimes using a doggie tooth powder & ordinary toothbrush.

Re: Teeth!
I have never cleaned my dog's teeth with anything, they keep them clean chewing bones and sticks.
My oldest dog Collie x is almost 11 and has lovely white teeth, Polly and Charlie have got amazing teeth but they are only 21 months and 8 1/2 months, but they love to chew stag bars, bones and sticks too.

Re: Teeth!
Hmm interesting, Bis had to have a dental when she first arrived as she had really awful teeth and bad breath. All was fine after that but now the bad breath has returned and I'm wondering if it's because I didn't keep up brushing her teeth? She has lots of bones and her stag bar so I assumed that would clean them for her! Now I feel really mean!

Re: Teeth!
i dont think the bad breath has anything to do with you not brushing the teeth alot of people never brush their dogs teeth i remember my aunties dog constantly had bad breath no matter what she tried and when she took her to the vet it was an abscess that kept returning and a course of antibiotics later she has never had bad breath again just normal dog breath but try the powder aswell it works wonders

Re: Teeth!
I don't clean Ledgers teeth but he has dental chews and bones as well as his toys to chew on. He did get a bit of pongy breath earlier in the year but had a rotten tooth that needed removing (he had a number of broken/missing teeth when I got him from rescue and one of the broken ones had gone bad)
