Post by Guest Wed Nov 14 2012, 07:05

Hi guys,

Steff has been on 200mg Cephalexin antibiotic tabs for 3 days now.. She has today started doing very big wee's and doing them in the house as if she busting.. Wondering if anyone knew if this antibiotic can cause that?? Just trying to work out if it is a side effect..

Anti-be can have many & varied side effects. I'd give the vet a ring & ask. Have you looked on the packet, or did they just give you the tablets?

There is nothing on the packet, and I googled it and couldn't find anything like weeing as a side effect.. It's just not like her, and she looks up at me soo guilty, she actually just did one right in front of me, she was heading towards the door but just stopped and did it.. Yeah I will call the vet in the morning and see what they say.. She seems fine in every other way thinking

Moo had the runs last week, which I could only put down to a change in her meds, let us know what the vets say >Big Grin<

Called the vet and he said that it isn't a side effect of the meds but because she had tonsillitis she is drinking more water and being still a baby she still hasn't got total control over her bladder.. So when her bladder is full she can't hold it Sad

Sounds right to me. She'll be OK - just ride it out!
