THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD THIS WEEK WITH HIS SKIN
this started wed, he went upstairs at about 8 pm about 9pm he came down and had 2 lumps one by his nose and one in the corner of his eye , i thought he had just scratched himself but by about 11 he had got worse where he was lying down , so i was thinking had one of y teens sprayed something on their beds as by now the lumps were quite bad , but they hadnt so i decided to give him piriton and hopefully all would be ok , well that night he was scratchjing and itching i was up with him on and off , he was rubbing his face on the carpet , i leave for work at 5.00 am and by then he seemed to have settled so wasnt too worried , rang the hubby up about 8.00 am expecting him to say Trouble was ok but he said he has got worse and as we were speaking more lumps were coming up , i told him to phone vet and give more piriton . The pictures were taken at 2pm but by the time i got to the vet at 5pm they had gone down so it was a good job i took them , the vet said that some insect had bitten him and he had had a severe reaction , he gave a very strong steroid injection , well 2 hours later they had all come back up just like above , we had another night of crying and rubbing the face and we had to do the back for him , it mad me so sad to see him like this and TBH i thought he had developed more food allergies and in my darkest thought i did think how much more can this dog take and would it be kinder to you know what (i now feel very silly but i was an emotional wreck at the time) , i was thinking my vet obviously had got it wrong , but the next day once the steroid had the chance to work they had completely gone , we went back to vets for check up , he was pleased but if he gets bitten again i have to get emergency treatment as that was quite bad and next time it may be worse . we have no idea what bit him whether it was out on his walk or something flying in the bedroom , so i am guessing my vet did now what he was talking about ,

that's definitely hives.
Harv got them once when he got stung/bit by something at the park, i bathed him in cool water to help with the itchiness and gave piriton and it went within a few days

yeah it was the heat from him sleeping with us made it worse but the vet said that his reaction was so bad that another time i see them coming up to just rush him down there because obviously each time it can be worse . But all is good now and i got my little furry boy back to normal

Re: THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD THIS WEEK WITH HIS SKIN
Rocky has had this a couple of times, it was an allergic reaction to something or other. Tesco own brand non drowsy antihistamines did the trick.
