Poor Sam.
Damn fireworks get louder each year dont they
I had the tv full blast last night to help drown out the fireworks, that and lots of cuddles.
So little we can do about it.

Re: poor sam
So upsetting when our babies are stressed, when we had the first fireworks and thunderstorm with Bella we decided to try to make it a fun time , lots of play ,when the big bang noise came we would say YAY loudedly ,very funny seeing O.H dancing around the house!!!! We also did training with treats, for us it worked really well, we are very lucky as we did that when she was 8 weeks old ,so we dont have any problems with fireworks or thunderstorms now

Re: poor sam
Poor Sam, they just don't understand, do they?
Adaptil might help, or a thundershirt, but it'll take time to get them. If your vet's open today they might be able to sugest something.

Re: poor sam
We put some DAP spray on a blanket for Rocky last night, he then curled up on my hubbys lap and went to sleep. It works for us I would recommend you try it Steve.

Re: poor sam
a few friends of mine have started a campaign to get fireworks banned. they want to make the only ones being let off by the public to be silent ones to stop the stress of pets and the elderly. They also want them to be only done by demonstrators.

Re: poor sam
This is my pup's first "firework season" (and what a pity it isn't only confined to one night ie 5th Nov as in days of yore). We live near to an army area so he is used to bangs and doesn't mind them, but tonight the fireworks are worse and plus the local football club is having their firework party starting in half an hour or so, so don't wan't to push my luck by taking Kuchar on his usual 6-7 pm fast walk around the streets which usually wacks him out for the rest of the evening. So now he's stir crazy and driving me mad.
Ah well, only another 2 weeks or so of fireworks, then a short rest and it's the New Year with another two weeks or so of it.

I'd be for that , and once the bangs have gone a lot of the kids would stop buying themn anyway so probably a win win situation

I think it has to be quite snug as it is supposed to make them feel like they are being cuddled

Re: poor sam
Poor Sam!! And all the other little ones that have been suffering This was Rolo's first firework season and I guess we've been fairly lucky... I tried to be prepared, curtains closed, tv turned up lights on and frozen kongs etc on standby. We also sat playing silly noises on our phones... Rolo soon worked out that silly noises came from there and wasn't worried by the outside ones. But it's the hardest thing to sit and watch your dog have a panic attack over the noise, my old collie was dreadful, he used to try and dig under the bed, bathtub... anywhere to escape it Big hugs and I hope it's over for him soon ><
