Vomiting when over excited???
Just wondering if anyone else has heard of a dog with this problem? My staffy Henry tends to vomit when he gets over excited - it happens every Wednesday without fail at Canine Good Citizen classes, as well out on walks (especially when he meets new people and dogs) and in the car. Its disgusting and so embarrising!! I would love to be able to stop it if I can!

Re: Vomiting when over excited???
Usually clear liquid and white foam along with any dog treats he has been given. I don't really have any problem with him vomiting up his food as I never have him out and about on a full stomach (he gets a 20-30min walk in the morning on an empty stomach, then about an hour later he gets a small breakfast as I leave for work. His next walk is about 8 hours later when I finish work, then he doesnt get fed till dinner that night). He used to scoff his food so fast he would nearly choke, then bring it all back up again then eat it when he was younger - but putting two large rocks in his bowl has stopped that as it makes him eat more slowly.
I thought perhaps it could be motion sickness from the car?? - but then he is always worse on the way to where we are going than on the way home. Last week he vomited once on the way in the car to the river, once on his walk (when he met a new person and went silly) then 4 times in the back of the car on the way to training class, then twice at training, then slept all the way back home in the car without being sick!

Re: Vomiting when over excited???
It does sound like excitement. Have you thought about using Adaptil Diffusers? You can get the calming spray or collar on Amazon (and most online pet sites). I haven't used them but I've been told they can work.

Thanks for the tip - I havent heard of it and seriously wouldnt have thought of that! I have used feliway spray for calming cats and I know the same company produces a dog one too but I havent seen it in stores before. I hope I can get them in New Zealand
