Leaving a coat on overngiht
What do we think?
Id like to leave Lexis on cause even though her kennel is carpeted and has a duvet stapled into it and a bed in it too i worry shes cold...
I would obviously worry about her getting caught and strangling herself or something though! Or sitting out in the rain and getting a chill.

Evil mummy should just call her in and let her tunnel in your bed

Leave it on if you think she'll be too cold. I got Loki a jumper but it keeps coming loose he sleeps in the cage in the living room though. You can always, you know...sneak her inside the house?

Is there a space heater or extra blankets? I'd worry about the rain as well

Only 1 thing to do Hayley , stick mum and dad outside and see how they like it

Dempsey has a hoodie for the winter (it'll go on for the first time this winter probably tonight or tomorrow), but he's indoors. I'd be worried that Lexi might get damp & have to spend the night in a cold damp coat/hoodie.

What about them really lightweight microfiber fleeces that they sell now and you could butcher one to make a jumper for Lexi , if they do get damp they dry really quickly and in most places they are cheap as chips

Re: Leaving a coat on overngiht
I would personally not have dogs in the bed (not kennel either)! The OH will let them out of their crates into my bed in the morning! They lie on my side while he has all of his side> I dont like it (Lola smells quite doggy) but I wouldn't like my babies outside! To be fair I don't know why I'm saying this as they also have wind occasionally. Staffords are too baldy to live outside, then again I live in Newcastle which is cold for ppl. I think I mean keep them indoors

Re: Leaving a coat on overngiht
Mine often sleep in their coats at night. They all crate in out integral garage at night (not having 4 staffords and a cat on the bed!!)
However, i make all my own coats etc so they are made to measure and fit really well.
I also make crate matresses with SAFE insulation lining them so you can feel the warmth from them from just sitting on them. I often have trouble getting my guys out of their crates in the morning!!
Never had a prob wwith a dog getting caught up in a coat but diva sometimes manages to get hers off and if they all run together in them Loki sometimes undresses the girls

But if it gets damp at night (she has access to outside from her kennel) then she'll still have to be in a cold damp coat all night.
