Sophie was weird sort of poorly this morning
Shaz here. Sophie got up and did her usual toilet etc. She came and sat on our bed and drool was pouring from her mouth. She didn't seem aware of it and was making no attempt to swallow. She also seemed cuddly and subdued. She didn't show any inclination to want to go out for a walk either.
We thought she may have had a chill so put on her snuggly coat. She slept for a while and whilst we had to go out she was put in her crate.
She is now back to her normal self.
The drooling really was excessive for a brief period and it is something she has never done before even if we have been eating in front of her
Any suggestions? ><

Is there anything in the garden/out on your walk that could have irritated her mouth/throat?

Re: Sophie was weird sort of poorly this morning
Hi Caryll, this was first thng this morning. She sleeps under the duvet with us (not that she is spoilt) and went out to do her business.
The garden is just laid to lawn and I watch her like a hawk all the time in case she was to pick anything up (like a slug or worm etc).
She got back in bed with us and that was when she started the drooling. We decided not to walk her today, normally she gets expectant and excited at her usual walk time but she clearly wasn't interested in going out.
I am confident she didn't pick anything up, but have no explanation for the drooling.
She seemed to relax when she got warm and is now tearing round the lounge as I type this

HI lynn, I must admit that didn't cross our minds, but she ate her breakfast ok Prior to the drooling (F4D). It's possible she could have got a lump stuck in between her teeth somehow???
