Any advice , Bad Legs
Hi guys my staffy has recently had bad legs I used to take him for a run over the lake for an hour chasing tennis balls no problem hes only 15months , just recently he will come home lay down and his back legs litterally seize up, he will limp/hop and if i touch his back legs he dont like it, this is now happening even after a 10min run around with another dog in a garden , anyone have any advice? i will be going to vets just looking for some opinions , thanks

he sounds just like my girl when she pulled a muscle in her back. if your vet will think so he'll go on anti inflammatory medicine and no exercise for a week and only short walks on lead.

My guess is he has strained it, and the exersize, even though small isn't letting it rest enough. Going through it with Moo atm, after a week of what I thought was gentle exersize she was still limping, so off the thevets last Thursday and as above was told total rest, literally out for a toilets, and prescribed metacam, after 5 days her limp is finally going, but it then takes a few weeks to build up the walks again.
Maybe you could come say hi

Give him plenty of rest, sounds like you make have overdone things a little. I'm sure the vet will explain things clearly to you and give good advice on what to do next.

IO would exercise caution until the vet has checked him out but don't go panicking unneccesarily

I'd restrict his exercise to short lead walks for the time being - at least until the vet can check him out. It could be one of a few things from a strained back through to hip dysplacia, so a trip to the vets would be advisable.
