Not sure what's on Vin's legs
Vinny started out with what looked like a bite on his back thigh. It's been bugging him and has developed into a cluster of dry, scabby spots. He has had his tick and flea treatment and we have been putting antiseptic on it, but he is still scratching/licking/nibbling at it. Poor little guy. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
We might pop him to the vet later for a look over.

Shéara's got this too! Im thinking its his allergies, he's been in the long grass so hes been itching quite a lot making himself bleed. It could have been a bite and its clearly irritated Vin, it will itch more now that its trying to heal as well. How long has he had it for?

He's had it a couple of days. I'm also thinking allergies. Here's a pic - but it's a bit difficult to get a clear one! Poor Sheara, hope he feels better soon

Darcy suffers from the odd spot here & there some worse then others, the vet says its due to allergies, maybe 1/2 piriton twice a day, or a visit the vet just to be sure. >< for vinn.

Thanks Hayley - no idea what piriton is so I'm guessing we don't get it here

Looks like an allergy to me as well. If it got worse I'd have the vet take a look. Piriton is an allergy pill I believe similar to Benadryl.

Ah, good start - I'll ask about allergy pills. We'll pop him up to the vet this afternoon to take a look. Thanks

Re: Not sure what's on Vin's legs
It looks like an allergy, chlorpheniramine is the generic name for Piriton I would expect you would be able to get them at a chemist where the hayfever pills are

I little T tree oil diluted in to some boiled (cooled) water and kept in a little spray bottle is a fab thing to have with dogs, as soon as you see a problem just spray a little on the spot and it does the trick.. Anything serious though and it's the vets..
