Marley going mad!!
Well Marley is now 12 weeks tomorow and were a week and a half of his 2nd lot of jabs. But my placid little boy is turning into a nutcase > just wondered do you think is this now a bit of boredom kicking in where obviously we still cant go out for walks yet?? He just doesnt stop all day we make sure we spend plenty of time playing with him and doing some basic training but if thats not happening he will be found chewing, grabbing anything and dragging it round the house or his new one is chasing your feet which although started of quite ammusing is actually getting a little dangerous especially for the little ones, he just constantly runs round, is this normal at his age and can we do anymore to help his obviouse boredom??

Very normal for that age and he's simply trying to do something with all the energy he has. Training and mental games like seek will help and it should get better when he can go out for walks

Re: Marley going mad!!
Can i also ask what sort of training would you do at 12 weeks, we have him down to sit very well and he comes back to his name 99% of the time ive just started training to give his paw, but what else at his age is good as i just love teaching him new stuff but dont want to overload him at such a young age x And ive also just started putting his lead on him so his ready for walkies time in a few weeks but he just grabs it in his mouth and plants his bum on the floor and wont move how did everyone move on from this and is there any tricks of the trade to show them the lead will be there new best friend very soon!!

Re: Marley going mad!!
You can start teahcing him anything you want. The mental stimulation will help tire him out. For the lead just leave it on and when he walks around the house just pick it up and follow. You can also use food to get him to move around and get used to the lead.

Probably half boredom and half general madness; they're wild . Hiding, tug-of-war, training tricks, playing with him, etc., will have to keep him occupied until he's allowed out. You can train them as much as you want. Personally, I focus on teaching one new trick, and when he's learnt it, we'll practice them all, then teach him something new.

I got an empty plastic coal sack and placed half an house brick in it, i then threw into the garden Duke was onto it and drags it round the garden , in fact it;s his fave garden toy, it tires him out as well

Definitely boredom and it does improve. Get a boomer ball for inside to run off some energy and train as much as possible, you'll know when to stop. Have you tried a laser light on the floor, wears mine out all the time, she loves it
