Re: My new boy Marley!
Lovely pics. How has he been, I believe you brought him home today?
We got Alfie almost 6 months ago, his first day he was so excited/stressed he kept drinking gallons of water and weeing! Lol
He wasn't in good condition as Marley looks though.
Couple of pics of him the day we brought him home

Hope he settles in well, sounds as if he has already had a few homes poor boy. Hope you have a good first night with him too

Re: My new boy Marley!
awww Alfie looks amazing now! You both did such a good job with him! Yes, my husband and i just got Marley yesterday. He was only with the people we got him from for about a month and they got him from someone else....very vauge on history so we werent really sure what to expect...we got the feeling he has been moved around alot...we also felt bad that the ad said "need to get rid of it"...as if he were an object and not a living thing! When we went to see him the home was a mess, there was a loud TV blaring, and two kids running around crying....on top of all the noise it was a VERY Tiny flat! Marley nearly jumped in our arms when we walked in. Not over excitable, very managable, but def happy to see us! The woman mentioned that she thinks Marley may have been used to try and fight when he was younger (he is around 2 years now) but she wasnt certain, all she said was he wasnt in a nice home prior to getting him. We just knew straight away we need to take him from there and give him a proper home! He was so good when we put him in the car and very calm on the drive home....we live in a very big 3 story old Georgian period home with a front garden so he has plenty of space as it is just my husband and I! He has not been nervous at all! He ran around the house in excitement wagging his tale all night long! Offering us lots of hugs and kisses ...and he slept with absolutely no problem...it was like he has been here forever...he just snuggled up to me and slept all night! We think he could just pick up on our energy, we are really big dog lovers, and he felt right at home straigt away. HE pulled a bit on his lead when i took him for a walk last night but today i took him to the park and he did really good staying by my side on the lead! He got very excited when he saw another dog coming over, and since i dont know his background with dogs i didnt want to let him get near the dog. He wasnt actin aggressive at all he just seemed excited...i had to yank him back twice but then he was fine and we went on our way. He has been doing great with basic commands as well! We plan on working with him more one socializing with other dogs....We are very happy to have him as a new addition to our family! Smile

Wow he knows he has landed on his feet! He is a very lucky boy
As has been said, you are right to handle dog meeting with care, especially if there is the chance he was used for fighting. We were told Alfie ignored other dogs and was good with them, became immediately apparent this was not the case! He goes for any dog that comes close with no vocal warning and no way ignores any dog in a half mile area! Lol. Hope all goes well with Marley though

Re: My new boy Marley!
Thank you! Yes, when i took him to the park there were a few dogs, the ones that werent close by, but he could see, his ears perked up and he looked in their direction but i gave him a quick yank and his stopped paying attention. It was only when we went right passed another dog who was being walked that he started getting excited and gave off a high pitch and started tugging! I have him two quick tugs and he calmed down. So hopefully there wont have to be too much work, but i know he does need some. My husband has more experience with bigger dogs than i do (he grew up with Rottweilers and Doberman pinscher's and also helped with all their training) so he will be a great help with Marley's training. Thanks again everyone for all the kind comments!
