Sickly :( advice plz
Ok, I was out the room for like 10 minutes, came bk in and could smell mint.
Looked over at Diesel and she's munching away on a packet of orbit chewing gum which contains xylitol
No idea how many she physically ate but I got 2 out her mouth and about 5 out her bed all chewed up.
She was fine overnight, no reaction and I understand xylatol to cause a reaction within 30mins if they have taken a harmful amount.
But this morning she's been sick , White foamy stuff.
Had breakfast. 10mins later sick again, all breakfast.
10 mins later sick again White foamy stuff.
Nothing in last 2 hours.
So, starving her is best thing to do ? Just water only ? Or see how she goes and offer bit of dinner tonight ?

Hi Jackieb
Yes starving is best, water only for 8 hours and then slowly introduce food to her, small amounts, wait for an hour or so and give her a bit more.
Best of luck and hope she feels better soon

That would concern me as it could indicate a blockage that she's trying to get rid of. That's what Dempsey was doing before he had his operation for bloat/blockage. If it was me I'd pop her to the vets, maybe ask for something to 'flush' her through?
I'm not trying to panic you (just re-read the above & it sounds a bit alarmist!), but I just feel it should be checked out.

Diesel seems to be a bit better, she's been beating the crap out of Tank the poor pup !
Shes had steamed chicken breasts, steamed carrots for dinner 3 hours ago, almost inhaled it as she ate it so fast.
A cpl of times she has gagged , but hasn't been sick.
She's laying next to me snuggled into Tank snoring like a trooper lol
I think she's on the mend x
