5 Top Staffy Tips ?

Hi all my friend is writing a blog for her website and asked me to post this on here she was wondering what everyone thinks is 5 top tips for owning a staffy here is the link if you just post your tips on there she would be very greatful for any tips or ideas

I think it's important to socialize consistently with other dogs from a young age. As well as dealing with possible dog aggression issues, it gives them terrific exercise which is good for physical and mental well being. For the dog and owner that is lol.

Definately want one of those.. Also earplugs for the snoring and a good air freshener for the noises from the other end..

they need a lot of companionship and affection

Oh and don't forget that for any job no matter how big or small you will always have a helper only too willing to jump in with all four paws and lend a hand.

Plenty of chew toys and mind games with goodies inside so they dont go for your things. Willow has had everything you can think off. Not anymore!!!!!

never put your coat over the back of a chair with a pocketful of dog biscuits unless you want a really wet coat pocket full of sloppy dog biscuit powder

I just laughed soo much at this i thought this was just me................................

only thing i can say not included already in the above is forgive quickly even when they are a pain in the bottom as they didnt mean it..............honest !!!

Never leave unattended food on the table if there is a chair nearby

Be consistent. Enjoy lots a snuggles. Know they are very smart and loyal. Challenge them, they love it. Respect them, as they respect you. Have a couple of Kongs.. Learn to hang washing a different way so that it doesn't blow in the wind to much (at least until they about 10 months old in my experience lol). Love them, as they love you. Gosh so much you could write

1. Never talk while your Staffie is within five inches of your face as their tongue in your mouth is not a pleasant experience LOL.

2. Never be away from your Staffie for more than two days even if it's a work thing as the next time they see you it will take hours for them to calm down, stop licking you all over, and let you out of their sight LOL

3. Keep moist face wipes close by to wipe Staffie drool from your hand face and neck as they bare serial face lickers and kissers

4. Allow extra time for every walk through populated areas as so many people will want to stop you and talk about their Staffie or cuddle yours

5. Prepare to have your life changed beyond all recognition by the most loving, loyal, and friendly breed of dog I've ever known. Make sure they get at least 40 minutes walk twice per day with where possible 20 minutes of free running each session, this really is vital as they have so much energy that needs to be run off.

Treat them well, get them trained in the basics and socialise them with as many people and dogs as you can and you will be rewarded with the best friend any one could have.
