Rash from my Bailey Empty Rash from my Bailey

Post by taichi Thu Oct 18 2012, 17:43

I get a red and itchy rash from where my Bailey licks me! We are trying to get him to use all his licks on my other half and not me, and he seems to have cotton on to this. But I am concerned that this will stop our bond being so strong.
Does any one else have an allergic reaction to their dog, and do dogs see this as bonding.

Oh mate, nothing like a staffy snog lol! Laughing

Tbh honest I don't Moo lick me, just a personal thing, she'll get the odd sneaky one in but I hate being covered lol, so no its not going to effect any bonding, but what a pain!

That’s a good description. He also like to chew hair, which I wont let him do, not at the prices my hairdresser charges.

When I was a kid I had allergies to lots of things (mostly long haired animals) but I had thought I had grown out of them, we have had a cat for 13/14 years with no problems Sad
Anyway ive dug out the piriton.

Dempsey will lick my oh, but I've never been keen so he's just got used to not doing it to me. I don't think it's affected the bond at all! In fact I'm the only one he listens to (a bit)!

I just don't like the slimey slobber feel of a dog's licks! Dogs don't lick you to bond with you, they just like the taste!! Laughing

At the moment I have very dry skin on my hands and was wondering if this is from where Rocky licks them, I just keep applying hand cream to my hands, which of course Rocky loves to lick off, bit of a vicious circle I have going on here doh
