Has anyone heard of the stick and flick policy?
Delemere forest policy asks you if your dog poops on the walks instead of bagging the poop we should stick and flick into the undergrowth where it breaks down naturally,to save using plastic bags which is kinder to the enviroment.I think this is a fantastic idea but suprisingly some owners still dont do that either after emptying their dogs in the middle of the paths, has anyone else heard of this stick and flick? and what do you think?

All the forestry round here has a similar thing - flick it off the path so people don't tread on it & it rots away naturally. Not ideal, but better than plastic poo bags everywhere!

Yes I have heard of this policy too in some wooded areas near me. Shame not many people stick to it though

I'm only in Crewe myself but loathe paying the extortionate parking charges at Delamere. Luckily Ledger is shy and only poops in the longest grass/biggest bush he can find so areas that have this policy are great for us and i tend to kick dirt over it when its practical

Only problem is that it smells a lot and if someones dog has something that another dog can pick up its not very hygenic. however im all for saving the environment!

i think it's a great idea. we usually do that if it's very wooded and there's enough brush to cover it over

Re: Has anyone heard of the stick and flick policy?
I've never heard of this before, but agree it makes sense for the environment. All the places we've taken Percy so far have had 'no fouling' signs so have always picked up the poop. But after telling the OH about the stick and flick he says if he takes Percy out without me and the poo is away from the path and not going to be stood in he leaves it. He's never stopped me rummaging through the hedgerow looking for the poo before though when we're out together Guess he was having the last laugh there Lol x
