Backpacks!
Thinking of getting a backpack for Gaston for when we go hill walking. Can anyone recommend a good type? Any tips on how to use it properly would be much appreciated too!

Re: Backpacks!
I'm looking to get one for Tilly as Tommy is too young yet , check out the Ezydog ones , quite good quality and not too expensive . I buy from Inner Wolf but shop around

The Trixie one gets quite good reviews too, have not used it on Rocky so cannot personally recommend it:

Re: Backpacks!
We use one from ruffwear. It had detachable bags and a cooling system. Also has a handle. I'd wait a bit longer though until he is 18 months or so and more fully devolped before adding any weight.

I have the 3 peaks backpacks for my boys they have detacable backpack parts and is also a harness aswel.
As jstaff said above you should wait until hes older, tbh i would say at least 2. you can get back packs off ebay. Start of with a light weight in them problie nothing at first so your dog can get use too it and slowly increase the weight that goes in. they are great for walks helps tire your dog out and gives them a job at the same time x

Re: Backpacks!
Thanks all! Another question for you - he has a nasty habit of rolling in all kinds of nasty stuff. Is the backpack likely to stop him form doing this or will it just get super filthy?

Re: Backpacks!
I reckon he will be super filthy . I want to get backpacks for my girls so they can carry their own water and picnic food. I saw a staffy with a hand made harness with panniers. It was made from leather and had a place for his bowl, water and toys, it looked like a saddle so cute!
