We've never done so, although she will take a bone or toy in on occassion.

I wouldn't, but some dogs prefer it from what I've read! Just whatever suits you, if he possibly makes a mess would you like to clean it every time lol?

As I say he's quite happy to spend time in his crate and quite happy eating outside the crate. Just wondered if feeding him in there would further reinforce the " happy " experience of the crate. He's our first staffy and the first dog we have used a crate with.
BTW he has just gone in for a nap after a morning's exploring and playing. angel angel angel

As already said, if your routine is already working there is no need to feed in it. Later on if there are problems (for example if he starts to go to the toilet in it) you can feed him in it, but there is no real need right now Smile

If he's already happy in his crate, there's no need reeally. We let Loki take a toy or treat to his cage but he eats his meals outside the cage.

I've never fed Dempsey in his crate & I'm not keen on the idea. I like my dog to be comfortable eating in the room with lots of things going on around him, it helps to prevent food possessiveness.

He will take a bone in there sometimes (not always) and his stag bar tends to end up in there, but not his main meal.
