Re: how not to deal with firework fear
What kind of idiot thinks this is a good idea? In fact, what kind of idiots are willing to pay for this? God. I'd be scared if it were me standing that close, never mind dogs with their better sense of hearing and smell. I mean, is it really necessary? Unless you plan on taking your dog with you to light some fireworks, it's pointless.

What a complete & utter sh1t bag!
That's exactly how to start a firework phobia! I'd love to get my hands on that 'trainer'.

I didn't watch it all, just until the idiot set light to something, that was enough for me. Not the way to do it at all. Couldn't quite believe was I was seeing tbh.

Re: how not to deal with firework fear
Fireworks go off, dog reacts, human reacts to dog reacting, dog reacts more because human is reacting to dog reacting....
Is that what was supposed to happen?

I'd love to get hold of the $*&^%£ so-called trainer. What did he hope to gain from that?

Re: how not to deal with firework fear
Probably one of those trainers that use outdated methods. Though I think that's giving him too much credit. I'm sure even trainers that use harsh methods wouldn't think this is a good idea. I mean, Loki is fine when he hears fireworks or thunder, but when we were outside and it was thunder and lightning, he got scared. It's not like I should force him outside to make him get used to something he doesn't need to be close to. Poor dogs must be so traumatised still can't understand how mad a person has to be to pay for classes like this.

You wouldnt even train gundogs with anything even close to that exposure to bangs. what a complete idiot, and that applies to the owners too.

That prat realy does give a lot of good trainers a bad name. Yes I agree I think we all know where we would love to ram a firework into the idiot.
