Crying Urgent help with Morpheus!

Post by Sophie-x Wed Sep 26 2012, 19:34

Just realised he has a big kink at the end of his tail developing.
I've been so OCD about keeping him safe and such.
Could he have broken it?
He doesn't seem fussed when I touch it and apply a slight bit of pressure but it's noticeable!
It's not like he has had it trapped in anything like a door etc.

Will it stay like this? Sounds selfishly aesthetic but I don't want him to have a really bad kink! Will it grow out? What could it be?
I could've just been blind or what? I'm going to ring the vets tomorrow..

So worried Crying or Very sad

Has he knocked it somehow, or has someone gone to grab him by the tail ?

Rocky has a kinky tail which he had when we got him from a rescue centre, it dosn't bother him at all, it's right at the end of his tail.

He could've knocked it, but not enough to break..
We wouldn't dare grab him by the tail - Or any dog for that matter Sad

It's most likely just a quirk of his tail , Tommy has a perfect tail, Tilly has a wonky tail , no big deal unless you wanted to show. There was or maybe still is a girl on here (can't remember the name) and she got a pup with a curly pig tailIf he doesn't seem bothered with it and there's no reaction if you touch it , spend your money at the vet if you want but I don't see any need

Yeah I kinda did - Just a few local ones, nothing big. Eh. Oh well.
He does chase his tail but he can't get hold of it because he's too round doh

It isn't unusual. Dempsey also has a slight kink to his tail at the end - they didn't even penalise it in the show ring. His tail was never injured or anything - just one of those things.

Probably something that happened before he was born, but is only now becoming noticable.

Yes I heard it can be over-crowding of the womb as they grow?
Or it could've been one of his brothers or sisters..
Gah - I guess I've just never seen another dog with a wonky tail?

Being an extension of the spine just is worrying. Ehh. He's going for his second lot of jabs on Monday so I guess I can ask while I'm there.

Looks okay to me but it won't hurt to ask the vet since you are going to be there anyway.

Looks okay to me. This is gonna sound stupid but i used to breed rats and dogs tais are the same beleive it or not. inside there are three strands that allow for 360 degree movement and it only takes one strand to grow a bit quicker to cause a kink. Its nothing to worry about unless your worried about looks.
