Easiest way is to take her outside after everything. After sleeping, after playing, after drinking/eating and keep her out till she does the toilet and give lotssssss of praise and a treat or 2. If she does it inside then don't make a fuss about it, just clean up and take her outside again, she'll get the hang of it eventually!

That's the way I toilet trained my boy. I got him on a Friday and by the Sunday he was toilet trained and had no more accidents Big Grin

That's the way I would do it as well.

I don't like puppy pads - I think they confuse a pup. Also, they have absorbent crystals in them & if your pup decided to chew one & swallowed some of the crystals you could have a serious health issue.

Good point about the second jab! I have a fenced off bit where it's only my dogs can go so its easier for me.

It makes it easier for the pup aswell instead of training her to use the pads then training her again to go outside! For the meantime though you could keep trying with the pads, just until her 2nd jab!

I'm one of the few here that use pads. Just take her out after eating, sleeping or playing and wait until she goes and give lots of praise.

I bought pads and they weren't working at first... but Amado started using them! I leave one down in his room when I need to leave him alone. He's actually been using it to tinkle! I haven't seen him do it yet, but he's going there and not in the rest of the room. So they can work. He doesn't try to eat it either.

I used the pads at first, but he'd never use them. I found it much easier to take him outside whenever he'd woken up, finished eating or looked like he was going to do anything. Then lots and lots of praise for when he does something outside. I don't know if Loki's clever or if this is normal, but he picked it up extremely quickly; most of his accidents were because he couldn't be bothered waiting for me to open the door Laughing. Anyway, so I reckon it'd be better if you got rid of the puppy pads and just get right to the point, I think it'll be quicker.

Oh, now I remember the other reason we stopped bothering with the pads; he kept trying to play with them.
