Some advice about the 'snip' please
Hi everyone, I have been reading through sooo many posts on here and understand this question comes up a lot, but my worries are just slightly different so hope you don't mind me starting a new post.
When we rehomed Percy from the rescue centre, we were told that it was part of the rehoming policy for him to be castrated between 6-8 months, this is done for free at the vets surgery that the rehoming centre uses or obviously we use our own vet and pay the bills ourself.
When we were told this I did think it was a bit young, but they backed it up with information that vets now recommend it to happen at this age and also from a rescue centre point of view they want to ensure that 'accidents' don't happen, therefore they are able to keep the amount of rescue dogs down etc etc.
So now I have Percy and have spent many hours reading all the pros/cons about it I'm worried about this having to happen at this age, but as this is part of the rehoming policy I feel abit stuck as to what i can do.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

Re: Some advice about the 'snip' please
I agree it may be a bit young , maybe you could talk to the rescue to see if you can reach an agreement on doing it later but I think ultimately as far as they are concerned it will be a hard and fast rule that they want to see followed up and you aren't really able to do much about it on the grounds of good will.
We have to remember that the y have this rule for 1 reason only and as a rescue you sort of have to stay on their side in it all as you just can't tell what some people will do if they give a little

Rescues will always insure that the dog has the op for the simple fact that they are over run, and he will be fine being castrated at that age, its the agreement you have signed. I wouldn't worry about it at all Xx

I would normally advise you to wait for maturity, but I don't really see that you have any choice.
As part of the adoption agreement you would have signed to say that you would have him castrated at the time stated by the rescue centre.
