A Micro Chip Question
Just had a call from my friends wife who runs the rescue where I liberated Teddy from.
She has found some paperwork that she forgot she had that shows that Teddy is chipped, something I was going to get done.
The record shows that the first pound he went to scanned him and contacted the owner and they said they did not want him back. God only knows why.
How do I get his chip details changed? I have the chip number
Regards
Simon

Re: A Micro Chip Question
You might need to send them copies of any adoption papers to show that she wasn't stolen!

Re: A Micro Chip Question
Thanks everyone
Running the number through an online check gives me this
This is a PetID microchip, contact Petlog on 0844 4633999 for more information
When I try the numer on PetLog it does not find any information, do I still go down this route and contact them
Regards
Simon

Personally I would, if they still cant find anything make sure the ID you have is correct as it could be or another dog that has passed on. Mistakes do happen.
A good way is to make an appointment with a nurse at your vets for a health check and explain the situation and ask them to do a scan. Most vets will give you a free health checkup if you book it with a nurse and it's likely point you in the right direction for registering the new details.
I know about the mistakes at chip companies, Riley's last OWNERS were registerd as deceased which was a shock to them

That's what I'd do as well.

Re: A Micro Chip Question
If you go on the PetLog website there is a contact button at the bottom of the screen and drop them an email explaining the situation. They should be able to put you right.

Re: A Micro Chip Question
Well that was easy
Phoned PetLog and gave them the details.
His original name was Bruno although I am not going to use that as he is used to Teddy and answers to that name amongst a few others I sometimes use non of which are printable here.
He was born in 2010 although we do not know which month as he was not implanted until June 2011.
They are sending me a change of ownership form to fill in which has a fee of £15 but if my friend gives me adoption papers for him they reduce this to £10.
Regards
